About Milo

Milo is in Piscataquis County, in the part of central Maine where farmland gives way to forest. The town sits at the meeting of the Piscataquis, Sebec and Pleasant rivers, which is what put it there in the first place and still shapes how it is laid out.

It is a small town with a real center, the kind of place where the same faces turn up at the same counters. Piscataquis is the least populated county in Maine, and Milo is one of its service towns, so it carries more in the way of everyday amenities than its size alone would suggest.

What draws people here is access to the outdoors. Sebec Lake is nearby, the rivers are right there, and the Katahdin region and the Maine Highlands open up to the north. For anyone who wants woods and water at the end of the road rather than at the end of a long drive, this is a good place to be.
